Taliban is Getting American Troops Hooked on Heroin
Live in Washington w/ Jack Rice : The newest offensive against US troops from the Taliban is getting the soldiers hooked on heroin. It diminishes the effectiveness of our troops as well as raises money for the Taliban, who are the ones growing the poppy. How can the US combat this new strategy?

BULLS**T!

The holes in this argument are so laughably huge it doesn't even bear a response. Next time you want to accuse me and my cohorts of being hooked on heroin some empirical evidence would be nice.

Actually, I remember reading reports about the heroin strategy against the soviets way before 9-11. And Ive been wondering if the same thing has been happening these days for a while.

the whole tactic against the soviets was beautifully devious and perverted... they would sell the drug to underage sex workers, quite cheap, and the children would offer it to their clients, the same way a hooker in the West would offer a drink. The rational behind this was that if the children got hooked too, it was fine because they were sinners anyway.

Don't take it too personally. Mainly he's trying to make the point that this tactic had some effect in the past and could be used again. I don't think that he suggested that the Taliban tactic (if it exists) is already successful in Afganistan. However, you're not seriously claiming that there is no substance abuse in the army, are you?
