CNN's Rick Sanchez [Along With Media Matters & Huffington Post] Exposes FOX News Coaching The 9/12 Washington DC Tea Party Crowd - 09/21/09

Re: CNN's Rick Sanchez Exposes Fox News Coaching Tea Party Crowd
This has got to be the dumbest thing ever. Coaching the crowd. Yeah, right. The producer was letting people know when they were going to be on TV. Kind of like when after a commercial and the people start clapping because a sign tells them too.

Re: CNN's Rick Sanchez Exposes Fox News Coaching Tea Party Crowd
Why do they need to be told they're on TV? Either they have the enthusiasm or they don't. Obviously they weren't and she was coaching or she wouldn't have been reprimanded.

jon99doe, you're kidding right?

I'm quoting you here - " Kind of like when after a commercial and the people start clapping because a sign tells them too (sic)." Dude, that doesn't sound like news to me...who claps for the news?

Re: CNN's Rick Sanchez Exposes Fox News Coaching Tea Party Crowd
They need to be told.

When the camera - in a fixed position - is continuously pointing their way with an anchor actively speaking into the mic in front of them.

Yep. That must be it.

Oh wait - why then has Fox said they will discipline the producer? Hm. Maybe because she was in fact coaching the crowd (as is blatantly obvious in the video) and because it is utterly and completely wrong?

Re: CNN's Rick Sanchez Exposes Fox News Coaching Tea Party Crowd
"Real News Organistaions" don't fight like kids or constantly display their political bias like a badge of honor.

So that eliminates ALL the tv news.

And if you don't think other news organisations coach crowds when they are standing in the background, yer being naive. News anchor, cut to live story, crowd cheer, how the hell did you think that went down ?!

"News in Media Matters and Huffington post reported to have political leanings, more after this...."

Name the channel.

You must be thinking of one that you've noticed never shows political bias.

Re: CNN's Rick Sanchez Exposes Fox News Coaching Tea Party Crowd
Another big breaking story from CNN, the bottom-dweller of so-called "news" channels. Perhaps Sanchez will continue to ignore the left wing bias of CNN reporters when they ask questions in their rarely-covered tea party interviews.

Yeah, the bottom dwellers. Was Tucker Carlson not a bona fide Conservative? Robert Novak? Both were full-time employees of that network.

Fox News Channel? Uh, Alan Colmes? A geeky looking stooge for Sean Hannity to use as a punching bag?

More crickets from Noideas? Why are you so silent in your responses?

No, no, you don't get it. I'm asking YOU to provide me proof, i.e. links, showing cases of overt political bias by news organizations toward a political candidate or party.

I can provide hours, or movies (Outfoxed?) that show Fox as a hyper-partisan arm of the Republican party; advancing it's memes and talking points. It's well known and demonstrable that Fox is neither fair nor balanced.

I'm asking you to show me how the other networks are as similarly biased. If you mean that they are follow-the-leader establishment cheerleaders, then I agree with you. We see that kind of fawning obsequiousness to whomever is in charge at the moment. God knows we sure saw enough of it during the last administration, and we see some of it now. They never give us news, but more of a "He said, she said" and in their eyes they're reporting.

Fox gives us a "We said, they're stupid commie homosexuals". It's different, see?

Dont waste your time. Its already been set up before you got here. There are THOUSANDS of examples of Fox news blatantly lying, but none of the morons who watch are going to admit it. They just keep coming up with excuse after excuse. And if you finally corner them with an example that has no other explanation other than the fact that its a lie, they will simply say that its ok, because Fox tells them that others lie, so why shouldnt they. Its pretty disgusting.

Just go to Newsbusters.org and you will see the daily liberal slant of the media. All the proof any rational person could need.

Re: CNN's Rick Sanchez Exposes Fox News Coaching Tea Party Crowd
You just don't seem to get it, and I'm sorry for you.

As an exercise (though you'll still probably maintain your skewed view of what's morally proper) I'd like you to go to newsbusters.org and scroll to the very bottom of the page and click on 'Terms of Use'. I this section you'll notice that newsbusters is owned and operated by the Media Research Center.

Now I'd like you to google 'Media Research Center' - notice that the first thing you'll read is that it was started by ultra right wing conservatives, which would make the information that they post very biased.

From there I would like to find the link for 'the benefits of giving wisely to the Media Research Group'. In this section you'll notice that they ask you to donate your "appreciated securities", your "life insurance policy that you no longer need", the real estate that you own, your trust funds and your retirement savings to them. I sincerely hope that at this point you will have realized that their mission really doesn't have much to do media at all, but is more in line with"screwing poor suckers out of everything they hold sacred and denying families the right to live within acceptable standards in order to turn profit".

After that you should look them up on wikipedia so that you at least read the criticism and lawsuits that have been filed against the Media Research Center, before supporting them.

Then maybe look at FAIR's website so that you can at least read the opposing side to your right wing rhetoric, and possible come up with a conclusion of your own somewhere in the middle.

We can only hope that you use the fantastic power of 'thinking for yourself' that god has bestowed upon your malleable little mind.

Not surprisingly, another Noinfo failure to respond and his/her simply echoing Rush Limbaugh talking points.

Perhaps in the future there will be some intelligence to a right-wing post?

"All the proof any rational person could need."

Except for, ya know, facts, truth and reason. Other than those things, you're right, Newsbusters has all the proof any person could need.

Re: CNN's Rick Sanchez Exposes Fox News Coaching Tea Party Crowd
I don't think that 'proof', as you're requesting, is entirely necessary. The bias in news corporations is inherently right wing, though my not be directed towards any particular party or political candidate.

News corporations are just that: corporations, and their interests lie in making as much money as possible, as with any other corporation. The money is generated through advertising revenue. The people who pay to have their products advertised are counting on the 'news' to have a particular demographic of the population that will consistently watch the channel and consume the products that are advertised. In order to make more money, the 'news' corporation gears their 'journalism' and 'reporting' so that it elicits an emotional reaction in their viewing audience - this drives the viewing audience to continually consume the news and continually be subjected to the barrage of advertising that accompanies 'news' while maintaining profits for the corporation.

The greatest consumers in the united states are the right wing, gun toting, materialistic, self indulgent demographic of the population that has polluted the perception of America as a whole. In order for a company who is 'reporting news' to continually profit, they hope to appeal to as much of this demographic as possible in order to attract as much advertising revenue as possible.

Hence, bias in all private media in order to attract the regular viewership of the most gluttonous consumers and make more money.

Re: CNN's Rick Sanchez Exposes Fox News Coaching Tea Party Crowd
Cheerleading is certainly one of the things I meant, glad you agree on that. It's open bias and has no place in the news.

Fox's conservative tilt shows up in their news, as we all know. Ignore punditry programs btw on any channel, they are bias by nature, it's when it segues into what is meant to be unbiased news, it's a problem.

Anyway, since you pointed out Fox, I'll go with NBC/MSNBC. Here's 3 examples:

The 2008 MSBC Election Coverage: Hosted by Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann, from the start this was a disaster, the two simply were unable to stop themselves from attacking the Republicans. But then it went beyond that and they also showed overt bias towards Obama and openly questioned Clinton's qualifications. Complaints from the public, NBC and other News groups led to both being removed as anchors, though they did show up again on election day.

The week of the election, the coverage slogan was "The Power of Change".

Ziegler interview: Contessa Brewer interviews John Ziegler about David Letterman's comments concerning Sarah Palin. It degenerates into Ziegler attacking MSNC (his usual move) and Brewer openly shows her bias with discomfort for his opinions, involves her personal experiences to defend her stance and changes the interview to "who speaks for the republican party". It ends with her cutting his mike.MSNBC were also accused of bait and switching as Norah O'Donnell was the original intended interviewer and had an interviewing history with Ziegler - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ilNUBq4WCKA

Jon Stewart tires of bias by NBC and softball questioning - Fox News was accused of it with Bush, how else can you call it with Obama. Funny clip (of course) - http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/thu-june-4-2009/the-real-world-d-c-

Btw all this may look like I'm defending conservatives, I'm NOT. Just don't care for bias, though it can be fun and entertaining, it has no place in the news.

Oh and those media watchdog groups usually have a conservative or liberal agenda, but because they both exist at least they help point out bias on both sides, just take it all with a pinch of salt.

Re: CNN's Rick Sanchez Exposes Fox News Coaching Tea Party Crowd
Ok, I'll keep this brief.

The first example has no sources, and I can't really take your word for it, so I give you no points. However I'll refer you to my refutation of your third example below under "cheerleading".

The second example is pretty bogus. Ziegler sets the tone at the outset (0:14) by being a smirking, insufferable prick and telling her "you and your network suck ass". The very FIRST thing he does is insult her! He constantly insults her network throughout the interview and acts like a petulant child. She asks him questions, or redirects him when she realizes that she isn't getting anywhere with a particular line of inquiry, and all he does is act snarky. Find me a SINGLE example of her left-wing bias here. Just one. Quote the time in the video. No points here either, boss. I'm starting to think you and I have very different opinions of what constitutes journalism and proper means of polite discourse.

Third: That's just establishment cheerleading. Happens with every administration by the suck-ups in the MSM. I am, of course, referring to the NBC coverage and not Jon Stewart's skewering of them for it. It's not left or right-wing, but mindless flattery by hacks who want continued access and "scoops". No points for you.

Net gain = 0, and consequently I still don't see any evidence of this "liberal media" you conservatives go on about.

Re: CNN's Rick Sanchez Exposes Fox News Coaching Tea Party Crowd
Bubba, I should have taken from the avatar that you had certain leanings. But don't be blind. Maybe you're young or a little defensive to those who troll.

Pointing out the flaws on both sides of a two party system and the bias in the media no matter what the leanings should be practiced by all.

And don't take anyone's word for anything on the internet, just go do the homework yourself. It's too easy to have opinion served up to you on the net. If you can't see the bias in any of those examples then you are being blinded by your own beliefs.

Oh, and don't call me a conservative, I'm no conservative. And I have never voted Republican.
