Was trying to use my gf's 3GS to read and browse the web while lying down in bed. After 3 generations of iphone it's amazing that they still haven't fixed such as basic issue as turning off (or reversing, or best yet making a manual switch) auto rotation for those times when you aren't using the iphone in an upright position. There was only one word which kept coming to mind at that time.
Note: You can flip the iphone 180 degrees to lock it in a useable position while sleeping on your side, but still doesn't allow you to use the display in the vertical position which is most appropriate about half of the time. So annoying and stupid

You know what's fucking weird? I'm browsing m&c in my bed right now using my iPhone, and I was just griping to myself how annoying it is to have to hold the fucker at just the right angle in front and above me to be able to type.
