This is a collection of time lapse footage, shot during the La Canada "Station" forest fire in the San Gabriel Mountains of southern California, August 28th through September 3rd, 2009. A huge chunk of old-growth mountain ecosystem was burned, houses destroyed, and lives lost during this event.
These images were filmed from Santa Clarita, California, which is about 15-25 miles west of the fire. Equipment used: Canon SX10-is digital still camera and HF100 HD camcorder.
