I bet they don't even start Lent afterwards. Besides they do this in September? After carnival you're supposed to not eat rich foods until Easter. At least we start carnival in February.

considering many Japanese aren't Christian much less Catholic I doubt they start Lent afterwards. They do this mainly because of the Japanese connection with Brazil and the number of Japanese Brazilians in Japan - even though many of them have faced discrimination
