Is this an advertisment for some documentary?
This video sure doesn't explain HOW an African girl can cause a hurricane in the US..
Maybe I should just assume that that assertion is a far fetched ploy to get me to watch the documentary..

I think perhaps you should watch again, as it certainly does explain how a little girl *could* possibly create enough atmospheric disturbance to put in place a series of events that may or may not result in a hurricane.
Frankly, the suggestion is interesting and therefore does justify it's posting.

nah, you're wrong.
it didn't satisfy my coriosity because it only states the stages of the hurricane formation and doesn't really explain it on any interesting level.
I like science explained on my (non-scientist) level, but this is really knocking it up a notch or two on the idiot bar.
Note that I am not talking about the documentary (which I haven't seen) eventhough it uses cheap ploys like this to keep viewers hooked. I am talking about cutting out the hook part and posting it on a site as if it had any value on its own.

Saying a little girl kicking up sand can cause an atmospheric disturbance because the air currents are so unstable explains it pretty well. Plausible, yeah it sounds like it Possible? I guess that's the real debate that this could actually happen from such a minor event.
