How to abuse the power you have as a librarian.

Re: The Insulting Librarian: Mitchell & Webb
Years ago, I sometimes thought librarian would be something for me but then one night a ghastly vision engulfed me: a little snotty wizard kid struggling in vain to come alive in an ocean of putrid 'prose' and dumb people (you know, the average human being) asking me all day long about when's it available? when's that one coming out? when's it coming back? can I reserve it? it's a great book, eh? my son wants to be just like him ... oh, how terrible this witchcraft spoils our youth (there was this ugly visage of a grizzled old lady brandishing a cane and wearing a Salvation-Army uniform), I want you to immediately remove this offensive title from your stock; and the middle-aged balding man asking for the adult cover edition -- and that was the end of my 'thinking about becoming a librarian days.' I just can't bear to think about shelf upon shelf of half-rotting Harry Snotter behemoths despoiling the air and sharing the same building with Tolstoy. Inconceivable!

So...you won't be seeing the film.
Re: The Insulting Librarian: Mitchell & Webb
What do you think? I didn't even see The Lord of the Rings film trilogy except for the first and that one nearly caused me to slit my writs. And let's please not start to discuss the new Star Wars rubbish. Also watched the first of that one (years ago), but for variety's sake nearly blew my brains out that time.
I must be one of them living fossils, still eking out a life in some half-forgotten corner of this world and remembering the days when more of my kind roamed around it.
Oh, by the way: I can really appreciate bad films if they are so bad they are funny, but lots of modern crap even fails on that level.
If I sound like a grumpy old man, so be it. 28 years and still running, so one has to wonder how grumpy I'll be in about thirty years. Possibly, I'll develop Medusa-like qualities.
