Now I'm gonna puke.
Any credibility that Dean Cain got from doing Ripley's, he just lost it again.

I know it's parody, but it's offensive coming from a Fortune 500 company. Shoot, it's offensive coming from any company that doesn't make it's profit from porn.

Re: OMGIGP and Internet Explorer 8
If Microsoft really should fire someone rather than 5000 employees like they recently did, it's their interface designers. These guy are endless sources of puke.

Re: OMGIGP and Internet Explorer 8
Too bad your browser still probably has security holes and you guys still havn't gotten your act together for 20 years in either browsing or web browsing. But other then that I got to say, pretty weak feature.

Re: OMGIGP and Internet Explorer 8
I meant "browsing or word processing" Word still takes an exorbitant amount of memory to run.

Is it wrong that even though she was puking I was thinking she's cute?

Re: OMGIGP and Internet Explorer 8
Wrong? No.
Kinda disturbing? Probably to most people, yours truly excluded.

Re: OMGIGP and Internet Explorer 8
Wow. Now besides all you knee jerk "I hate MS because I have to hate a company that has more money than me. . .", I would have to say that this was an honest, albeit wretched, attempt at edge advertising. Now that being said, WTF man, that was terrible. And besides, who in their right mind would let Bobcat Goldwaite NEAR a camera now-a-days? This was pure shock, and poorly executed. This could have been better made by off screen sound effects and not slipping in vomit. Jesus, man, even Dean Cain's appearance looked shabby, and what the hell is up with that "Break every rule of graphic design" logo graphics at the end.
I appreciate MS for really trying to pull themselves together over the last few years, but this is just terrible. Christ, put me on the marketing board and I can point them in a better direction. Come on MS, you have the ability to appeal to everyone, not just the L.C.D.
Shame on you for this one.
P.S. I like IE 8, but also use 4 others, every one has flaws and gains. And to those still using Firefox, could you please have mozilla streamline that POS so I can use it, cause it still just stinks.

Re: OMGIGP and Internet Explorer 8
What's POS (besides "part of speech" or "point of sale")?
And yes, the "Microsoft sucks" thing is such an old saw. We get it, there are smaller and sometimes better programmers out there.

Re: OMGIGP and Internet Explorer 8
Is it just me, or is Dean Cain looking a bit like Seth MacFarlane these days?
Re: OMGIGP and Internet Explorer 8
I too have checked numerous browsers and still have 3 or 4 installed. Is Firefox perfect? Of course not.
To call it a piece of shit though, well, that is a bit infantile. Maybe you had some bad experiences with it, but there are a number of people that are quite happy with it.

I use a Microsoft Natural keyboard and it is the best keyboard I have ever used. However as somebody that used to have to write front end code for IE and all browsers and remove endless spyware from friends computers, I'm am holding back when I call it a POS and say that MS should burn in hell for what it has done and continues to do to the industry.

Re: OMGIGP and Internet Explorer 8
I don't (see above), I hate apple too. The main reason I hate apple is, as you alluded to, they are a very deceptive company. Anybody remember the iphone 3G keynote where Jobs claimed that the iphone was going to be $200 world wide? Where was the bloody great big asterisk next to that 200, steve!

Re: OMGIGP and Internet Explorer 8
Apple's strength is flat out their branding and marketing. Steve Jobs is a master snake oil salesman. Apple has not developed anything in the past 10 years, other than taking someone elses product and making it slick and sellable... at a re-fucking-diculous markup.
Do NOT get me wrong though. They re brand them well. The Mac Pro tower and the Macbook pros are really elegant pieces of technology. But they also know their niche. Above average users. HP outsells them 10 to 1 but HP also makes their stuff much cheaper to sell to the masses.
MS is finally getting this and, lets face it, making some great moves also, the new Zunes are pretty slick, the updated xbox interface, smart, and (once learned) the office 2007 working enviro is quite sweet.
Sure MS maked Vista bloated, but are learning the lesson. Is apple free of that? HELLLS NO. iTunes is the most, MOST bloated POS in years. Its apple centric, and intrusive to PC users.
It really all comes down to marketting and who is the slickest.
I would say one way for MS to fain ground, is to open part of windows 7 up and let the hackers strengthen it up by themselves and send it back to MS. Involve the community BEFORE they decide to be enemies.

Re: OMGIGP and Internet Explorer 8
I used to use Windows most of the time until recently, occasionally using OSX at work. However for the past ~6 months I've been running Ubuntu and have only booted into Windows to play some games that can't run under Wine... and I'm so sad that I never realised till now what I had been missing out on. I wouldn't yet recommend a Linux system to everybody, but if you are somebody that is really confident with a computer, then you are going to be far less productive and far more annoyed using anything else. If you know what you're doing most things are far easier to do on a Linux desktop. OSX and Windows were built so that everybody could use them, where as Linux desktops are built with power users in mind.
