Letterman is such an idiot... he totally forgot how to be funny. Good clip though.

He really didn't need to be for this one. Those were some damn funny stories Cohen told.

But I do get what you're saying. I used to really admire Dave until he started getting people on his show just so he could attack them. I think some of his earliest stuff is still his best work.

OK, maybe he wasn't as funny as I remember:

Actually, you're such an idiot. Why does someone come on the any talk show? To do an interview, tell stories, promote whatever.

Point out something in this clip that makes Letterman an idiot? All he did in this clip is ask a couple questions and let Cohen talk. If he really had been an idiot, he would asked multiple questions, never let Cohen get in a word edge-wise and just blathered on about his kid or some nonsense.

Lettermen was basically a non-issue in this clip until you made it one.

I have seen so many Bruno interviews it's kinda weird to see Sacha Baron Cohen in an interview.

Woot, finally. A featured clip. I sorta knew this one would make it though. :-/ :)

Congrats. You've been submitting some great links, so it was just a matter of time. Great comments, too.

LOL, what? I always though you decided what got featured. If you were just saying that to be nice then ok, but if you actually thought the other links were "great" but didn't choose to feature them, then that's really perplexing.... funny... but perplexing.

LOL, no doubt. I guessing that was you that uploaded the other clip as me Wolf. Well thanks to who ever did so.

side note: I never got when I should use "whom" so even though felt like I should have in the spot above, I didn't. I just asked my housemate if he knew and he proceeded to grab down a book called "The New Fowler's Modern English Usage (Third Edition)" and flicked to the section on "whom". He got through the first sentence of the page and a half on the subject and said "Yeah it's a toughie".

I think that even if I knew how it should be used I would feel too pretentious doing so. Maybe there is somebody here who can explain it in dead simple terms?

Mmm ... English is not my native language, but I seem to know a thing or two about it. Let's see if I can help:

There you go. Couldn't have said it better meself.

Re: Sacha Baron Cohen on Letterman 2009/07/07
Okay, I'll play the straight man.

Dead simple terms:

"who" is the doer, and "whom" is the doee. If something is done to or with someone, use "whom". As in, "Well, thanks to whomever did so. But who the hell gives a shit, anyway?"

But the word "whom" is passing out of the English language, so use "who" in all contexts, unless you're talking to a twit like me. Or if you want to sound smart without trying too hard, just randomly use "whom" in place of "who" 50-100% of the time. Nobody will know the difference anyway.

LOL, you two are too funny. I think I get it, thanks :)

> Or if you want to sound smart without trying too hard

Well it's more a case of not wanting to sound stupid. Most people tend to judge you not based on what you said, but how you said it. :(

> But the word "whom" is passing out of the English language

Is this just an observation or did you read it somewhere?

BTW, I saw Bruno tonight and that was some VERY SICK SHIT! Really enjoyable and had me in stitches at certain points. :)

Cohen is off his trolly, my god interviewing a terrorist. In that part of the film Bruno confuses Hamas for Humous. Proper hilarity there
