CPSC to Demo Dangers With Consumer and Professional Fireworks at Press Conference on the National Mall.
Fireworks may be a staple for family 4th of July celebrations, but the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is urging consumers to only use legal fireworks and to use them safely. This year, CPSC is warning that a large number of deaths associated with fireworks are related to consumers using professional devices. This year's demonstration will feature a graphic reenactment of an actual incident where a man was killed while setting off professional fireworks. At a news conference to be held on the National Mall, CPSC Acting Chairman Nancy Nord leads a federal push to reduce injuries and deaths associated with all fireworks. CPSC releases new injury and death data, and tips for celebrating safely this holiday. Joining Acting CPSC Chairman Nord will be Chief Charlie Dickinson, Acting Assistant Administrator for U.S. Fire Administration and Lewis Raden, Assistant Director for Enforcement Programs and Services with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Re: Exploding Fireworks Dummies 2008
I appreciate the video for its purpose, but the traffic appears to be in the frag range of some of the explosives placed within the containers. It's for safety, but it doesn't appear safe...

You would have to be so tremendously stupid for almost all of those things to occur, you might as well outlaw everything. Only these guys could make a sparkler dangerous in their twisted fantasies.
Show me "Mannequin with gun in mouth" or I won't know if it's stupid or not.

Also, do you think they established that it was in fact a barbecue well enough? I think I needed at least another minute of watching a guy grill hot dogs before I was convinced.
I was also hoping to see a sudden cut to a gigantic mushroom cloud during that scene, as a gag. Some people just don't have a sense of humor like I do.
