Sport Science: Coach's Curse
How does an athlete respond to different coaching styles? Does the nurturing father-type coach get better results than the raving maniacal screamer?

Re: Sport Science: Coach's Curse
I noticed that the nice coach never gave any constructive criticism. The bad coach immediately pointed the things out that I'd have said if I was coaching (if I was still coaching). I used the nicer approach during trainings because with that I found that I could point out flaws better and teach better. During games I just had to be brief and mainly pump up the adrenaline so I'd shout (not curse) from the sides and and be strict during time-outs. I found that people got careless if I pointed out what they were doing right during games.
