Really poor form posting this on the day that he dies. I expected more from this site. Feel free to judge him on any other day, but not on the day he dies. That cowardly and pathetic and very insensitive to his family.

All the injustice that exists in this world only exists because of small actions. Most of the time the people involved haven't even considered the larger consequences, but it doesn't make their actions any less of a factor. This works in the opposite way too. But if you noticed it yet, then you're unlikely to ever do so.

When he first started to act crazy, it seemed a bit tragic, but his craziness started to seem more and more to be an example of what a person could get away with if he had enough money and fame. After years of having him subject us at regular intervals to the tragedy of his life, it's hard to respond to his death with respectful restraint.

You make a good argument. Although personally I didn't know him well enough to judge him in the same way.
He was very weird (as in not what would be considered normal by most) but that alone is not getting him this hatred or worth of hatred. I believe it is based on what people are assuming he did to the kids he spent time with. It doesn't seem to matter that he wasn't found guilty of the crime. He is guilty simply for being charged and that's sad. I hope you guys never find yourselves charged with a crime and are then instantly assumed to be guilty.

The first time he was accused of being a pederass I reserved any opinion until the courts gave him his due process. But then he settled out of court - which is pretty simple when you can spend millions on a settlement to avoid a conviction.
The second time he was accused (on 7 counts!), he was found to have the mental age of a 10 year old by a court psychologist, and only that saved his ass from a conviction.
His trouble with kids and the court wasn't a simple matter of false accusations. Read the court transcripts - he definitely fucked up and did a lot of things no adult should ever do with a kid.
You can attempt to take a benevolent stance when it comes to Jackson, but the documented facts punch way too many holes in that position for it to hold any water.

Read up on basic tenets of logic and debte and you'll learn just how silly it is to offer a retort of "Oh yeah? Prove it!" And no, I won't provide documented examples of that either.

He was just a man, and he's just dead. It happens all the damn time, and Jackson deserves no more attention or respect than anyone else. The very fact that he was a celebrity who reveled in his eccentricities negates any reprieve or socially acceptable waiting period before people are allowed to criticize his freaky ass. The man put himself in the limelight repeatedly over the years. Just because he's not breathing anymore we're supposed to magically turn that limelight off? Hell no.

And how exactly do you know the level of respect I give to the other 6+ billion people on this planet? You haven't the foggiest idea. If you kicked off tomorrow, I would care just about as much as I care about Jackson's demise. Respect isn't an automatic given, it is earned (at least in my case, but you perhaps hand it out to anyone and everyone regardless). Jackson is getting precisely the same level of respect I give to any other unwarranted stranger. I'm not about to shit in his casket, but I really don't care that he's gone and see no reason whatsoever to suddenly treat him as a sacred cow just because he's no longer able to make a fool of himself.

I follow the idea that in death, you speak truly about that persons life. It is dissrespect for people who the day before hated MJ for allegations to suddenly have a change of heart because he died. I never knew him personally, so i have no basis of if allegations about him were true. But at least in posting something like this, we remember more than just the good things about this pop giant. We remember his life, and honor his memory by not obfuscating the bad out. I loved his music, and am sad that he died so closely to another tour. It is tragic that his family is left in around 500 mill in debts. But on the day of his death, I m glad to see more than just the good times videos.
