Wow. As a 3d artist myself, I can honestly say there wasn't a single aspect of that short film that I didn't like. Thanks a lot for sharing.

Re: Oceansize
Yuppers. I pretty much agree. The content was first class and the effects were wonderful. I wasn't thrilled with the facial reality but that's a really petty gripe on my part. Some of the photorealism these days is jaw-dropping and not everything has to be in order to satisfy.

Re: Oceansize
I suppose the facial designs are in the eye of the beholder. At the very least they did a good job of avoiding the uncanny valley (that is the concept that when cg people become too realistic, that our expectations of their behavior and mannerisms also become very high, leaving the character to seem cold and zombie like. Final Fantasy the spirits within was a prime example of this.)

Very cool. We've come a long way from "Clutch Cargo".

Re: Oceansize
Were they trying to have repeating sound effects? It sounded a lot like an old game, where the sounds were very limited to what they can produce. If it's artistic license, that is one thing, but I thought producing 3D works means making it as close to real as possible.

In any case, it's not bad work!

Re: Oceansize
I thought that was intentional. The explosion/collapse had that illbient (does anyone stilll say that?) trance quality to it. I was definitely into it.
