Re: Family Guy: Bag of Weed
I hate Hulu, for so many reasons, but this is the only place on the web to get this content.
Either we throw the baby content out with the corporate bathwater, or we make the baby available to those who live in countries the bathwater feels they are willing to air it in.
What should be MilkandCookies policy?

Re: Family Guy: Bag of Weed
Fuck 'em! They don't allow me to watch their stuff on the arctic wastes. Again, fuck 'em. Leave them in Latest Links, so no headlines to these videos that don't allow a good amount of Milk and Cookiers to watch them. Have to draw a line here, or this thing will get worse. A matter of principle.
(That was my opinion.)

Re: Family Guy: Bag of Weed
I agree, there are ways around it that enable you to watch these vids but it's a hassle. We shouldn't give in to this censorship. It's ok to have these in the latest links but it always frustrates me to see headlines that I can't view.

Re: Family Guy: Bag of Weed
Then again, we're the ones who have "legal" pot.
I guess the world just isn't fair.
I guess the world just isn't fair.
Re: Family Guy: Bag of Weed
Oh, let's not get started on the Dutch government's definition of "legal" or its treatment of cannabis. Last time I checked, I may grow three (THREE! count 'em) cannabis plants. Also, do me a favor and don't ask me about why grow shops sell seed packages of six. What am I to do with the extra three? Feed them to my cat? (Spam, do you want any for your sill? BHG, perhaps? You?) While we're at it, don't ask me why the seeds cost way too much, so much too much (poetry!) I will buy them illegally if I get the chance. "Pot" should be legal everywhere. Chances are that the Dutch government will eventually really ban it. Damn collectivists.
Well, thirty seconds of heavy research on Wikipedia tells me I may have five plants, but I am forced to hand them over upon discovery? What is this sort of madness? Thank God I pay no attention to dumb rules. And thank God for that fence in my backyard.

The anti-drug bears will be at your den in a moment. Just remember to leave a little "honey" behind to keep them busy. Just kidding.

Re: Family Guy: Bag of Weed
Hemp seeds are, by my experience, an effective vermifuge, though typically in larger quantity. I don't know if worms are an issues for you, but a guy can't be too careful with raw meat. I'm surprised you tolerate a cat.
Re: Family Guy: Bag of Weed
The cat is a smaller, meaner version of me, and looks like he's wearing a suit and white gloves. In case you wondered, he (my cat) does the lemming hunting, while I tackle something bigger once in a while. I also make sure I don't have to carry my International Business Machine all over the tundra. True, sometimes I wonder why the cat doesn't just leave, especially considering I demand every other lemming he catches. I guess he takes great pleasure in being offered milk at certain igloos I frequent. Admittedly, the milk has a rather unique taste and would be impossible for him to find on his own. I don't suffer from worms.
Re: Family Guy: Bag of Weed
Ok, here is my new working policy, Hulu links should not be promoted to Headlines. This also applies to other hosts who censor geographically, like Comedy Central and Adult Swim.
But, I am going leave a caveat here that is always true site-wide. I reserve the right to break this rule if the content it compelling enough. I will try to only invoke this privilege sparingly and only when the content is worthy of the front page.
I would argue that FOX airing a musical number about the benefits of marijuana is not only funny, but historically noteworthy and thus deserving of front page status.

Re: Family Guy: Bag of Weed
I'm from Canada and can't watch these Hulu clips, or the ones from Comedy Central, but I do enjoy seeing them on as headlines... the conversations that spring up about some videos is entirely worth the small effort to try and find an alternate source for the clip (like the Comedy Network for CC clips).

Re: Family Guy: Bag of Weed
How about a technical solution? Could you hide headlines from members who cant watch them based on the country in their profile?
Re: Family Guy: Bag of Weed
I don't like that idea. Then you are essentially becoming Hulu. I can get around these blocks, but that's not the point. I don't support or promote Hulu, because in doing so I am only encouraging more and more of this sort of action. The www subdomain should be removed from Hulu and replaced with aww.hulu.com
If the US continues to support such services these tactics will eventually come around and bite them in the ass when the US starts getting blocked from something like last.fm. We have to stand up against this now and let them know that it's an unacceptable practice for any content on the WORLD WIDE WEB.

Re: Family Guy: Bag of Weed
I think you might have a hard time maintaining the list of which players support which countries. What happens when Hulu suddenly decides to support Canada or wherever?
Re: Family Guy: Bag of Weed
Could you create a tag based filter? Namely, a user could add tags to a personal list and and links which have that tag would be blocked. This one would be tagged Hulu, or perhaps 1984.
Re: Family Guy: Bag of Weed
It's just ignoring the problem. They get to keep their publicity on the site and you get less content because people are providing it through Hulu links.

Re: Family Guy: Bag of Weed
So the rest of us should not get to see hulu links because some people cannot view them?

Re: Family Guy: Bag of Weed
I'm talking about not supporting them. The world is created through the small decisions that everybody makes, this does not currently affect you, but if it becomes an accepted practice then it will. I'm placing my vote on the issue, it's up to you which way you vote but you just can't then complain in a year or so when you're the one being left out.
