Electric Unicycle: The eniCycle
How it works ? To ride the eniCycle, you sit on the seat and place your feet on foot rests on the both sides of the wheel. Then two independent functions enable easy riding of eniCycle. Gyroscope stabilization prevents falling forward / backward Electronic gyroscope measures vertical angle of eniCycle. If you lean forwards, this is detected by gyroscope and the electronic accelerates the speed of the motor to put the eniCycle back in balance. In case you lean back, the speed is decelerated ...

So, it's a Segway you cram up your ass? Kind of like Mr. Garisson's IT.

Heh. Where does the mouth go again?

Seriously, for a moment? This clip was a bit long and dragged out but the concept of the vehicle was really appealing. Just think, both hands free so you can SMS your friends while running over pedestrians!

Or being run over by pedestrians, as the case may be.

With my balance, I'd be toothless in a couple of days...

Re: Electric Unicycle: The eniCycle
I could have done without "Cotton-Eyed Joe" on loop.

But that's just a small, small side note compared to the fact that I've been fantasizing about something like this since I was ten, and I learned what gyroscopes can do.

It's pretty awesome that they could drag a 30 sec clip out for 8 mins.... Personnly I don't see this going anywhere. I do think it is cool, but you could see that at time the guy riding it looked like he was about to fall over. Maybe if they put one of them big-o NASCAR tires on it, it would be more stable.

Re: Electric Unicycle: The eniCycle
I think I noticed a few big don'ts, though:

1. Do not turn on the vehicle when it's lying down. Its initial balancing seems quite violent and you may just get the saddle in your face.

2. Curbs. Hopping down one seems to work, but with the small wheel and nothing but your groin to hang on to the enicycle, I think you'd fall forward while the machine scoots off on you and goes on a murder spree.

Re: Electric Unicycle: The eniCycle
1. Agreed, I noticed that too. They could make the startup more gentle with a light turning on when it was ready.

2. Well it would shoot right into you if you fell forward, however it seems to only move forward when somebody is actually sitting on it.
