The Nickle metal Hydride battery that was invented by Stan Oshinsky. It could run a car for 300+ miles and it's life would out last that of the entire car. So why don't we use them?

patent law does not protect someone "sitting on" a discovery.
This is a myth.
If someone else puts these batteries into production, the "patent holder" cannot sue them, unless they can prove that they themselves have the product in production.

Regardless, it's an invention all the research that went into figuring out how to build it and how to make it work "intellectual property" is kept secret while big oil sits on it.
