Re: Daily Show: Nationwide Tax Protests
Brilliant! Made me laugh out loud. 5 Stars.
But the thing is...both sides are right. "He's" a fascist. He who? Yes. Doesn't matter who's asking. Bush? Obama? Yep. Publicists-in-chief both for the same uniform agenda that puts the values and interests of a state-corporate partnership above those of We, The People.
And the more we allow ourselves to be polarized by the media, the more time we waste at the hands of two corporate parties that ultimately serve the exact same interests? That's less time we spend building up strong, local communities of Americans who, believe it, strongly agree with each other and can reduce our dependence on multinational interests by building financially-solvent and sustainable microeconomies.

Good luck.
Good luck.

Thanks! We're already off corporate bio-engineered food and products from China.
We all boldly create our own reality.
And those who timidly choose to stay behind? Lurking in the shadows behind their dark anonymity? We wish them well...

Re: Daily Show: Nationwide Tax Protests
Partly agree.
I do think that we should rely "more" on local economies for various reasons. But I have never really understood the negativity of "globalization" or "multinational interests" outside of the bible-readers who quote Revelations.
Now, a multinational company that enslaves one continent (Africa and most of Asia) to support another (Europe or North America) is bad, yes. I think there is an argument that can be made that a multinational corp. can benefit both. It's not an inherent flaw.

Re: Daily Show: Nationwide Tax Protests
Um...yeah! You're right. The only people interested in building up their local communities and concerned about the effects of globalization are "bible-readers who quote Revelations."
Yep. Definitely. No, no...that sounds highly rational and sensical. (But just between you and me? We do let in a few speakers in tongue. Just for flavor... ;)
Actually, rather than take any more of your time here, why not do some, er...slightly more.detailed research. Stop by your local neighborhood meeting. See what's doing. Take on a cool project. Have fun.
So long as you don't mind wading in amongst all those snake charmers quoting Revelations...
