Just before the buzzer, a 7th grader tosses a full court shot which pinballs about and goes swish. Unfortunately, the referee properly calls it a dead ball and the game goes into overtime.

Heh. Okay, I have the scoop for you. The team that made the pinball-shot won in overtime anyway.

Real question is, why are both teams wearing the same color? Are they bionically implanted with a HUD to tell each other apart?

No Basket. Ball touch roof and that means its out. But its hell of a shoot.

It is, but even before that moment, the ball touched the top of the backboard. Also out of bounds.
