Three minutes saying that the media don't tell us enough, then ten seconds of the "real story" on nuclear waste and overfishing? This was moronic. You'll get a lot more information and analysis in the crappiest mainstream news report.

His point wasn't the real story behind the pirates, that was just used as an example to show how the media leaves out important details. In this case they were details that made us look like the bad guys, so of course they are going to leave it out. The news isn't about telling the whole truth.

Spin this way or spin that way. As much as I hate to admit it, I've found that NPR seems to be the most truthfull, unemotional, and generally unbias news outlet today which is why I give them money monthly. Time was they leaned to the left but it sounds like they are geared across the spectrum now.

Amen. They still lean to the left sometimes, but a slight liberal bias is such a different thing from a full blown conservative agenda (need italics there).
All news will have some bias. NPR is the most consistently fair of the mainstream sources.

I wouldn't even say that they lean to the left. I would say instead that America's definition of "center" is actually somewhat to the right.

My idea of center is equal unbiased reporting without more or less of what points of view to bring up if relevant. Joe Friday style omelet with "just the facts".

Pirates were simply environmental activists all along. Who knew? Thanks for clearing that up. Its good to know all of that ransom money will be used to clean up toxic waste.
