Pompous rant from Carlin. You can't disagree with Carlin because he thinks he is always right. It's like debating with an intelligent five year old.
Bill Maher seemed to be a surprising balance to the conversation though his priority speech was a bit off IMO.
What I find more ironic about this video is Maher's quote "fascism is when corporations become the government". Oh how the mighty have fallen.

I thought Bill made a good point about priorities. However, Bushes priorities were fucked up, so what's the point in arguing over his Katrina failures with republicans? Republicans will always defend the ideology of being minimalist when it comes to problems at the homeland/motherland.
As for your fascism comment; Lack of government aid to Katrina was is interpreted by many liberals to be a result of class warfare. I don't know if this is accurate or not. One the one hand Bush was conservative/republican and a hill billy so he probably had some racist tendencies. On the other hand, republicans are naturally minimalist with these types of issues.
It should be understood that fascism can exist on both sides of the political spectrum. With fascism, you have the dictatorship and you also have strong government controls. Either of these aspects can be applied to democrats or republicans depending on your political views.

Depends on your definition of "fallen."
Tyrone from 'Nawleans can get shot on sight for looting, but Wall Street bankers only get scolded. Anyone in prison for screwing the gullible with property they can't afford? Nope - it's the people on the end of the disasters, man-made or natural, who get shafted, while the people who cause or mishandle them get away clean.
How much can you get away with from Circuit City, versus people's 401Ks?
You're not going to get any of the panelists suddenly reversing their opinions on TV, ejay. It's odd you should single out Carlin for being staunch.
The "mighty haven't fallen." We just get the illusion of punishment. If they set up a new commission to shift AIGs to federal control, it's just going to be shifted to another bunch of crooks. Government's a shell game and the people are still getting dicked.

Interesting since I wasn't talking about AIG or the like.
There is a big difference between looting outright and a complex scheme of trickery and thievery. (i.e. you can get red handed in one but not so much in the other)
I singled out Carlin's rant on this video based on his mannerisms and attitude. He's mad as hell and he's not going to take it anymore regardless if he's right or wrong. One day maybe he'll set his saopbox on fire.

Something tells me that Carlin won't be doing anything anymore.
