Ironic, huh? Stewart is demonstrating the power of a free and independent press.

Brilliant. Thank you, I8.
Re: Jon Stewart interviews Jim Cramer, part 1.
It's about time I submitted something worthwhile, eh?
Anyway, I'm sure someone more capable than I will find a clip that consolidates the two.

Hardly, my good I8. Your comments and links are almost always among my favorites...
Re: Daily Show: Jim Cramer, Unedited Pt. 2
Cramer's a worm on a hook, squirming.
I applaud the guy for having the sack to face Stewart and stick it out, even though he's clearly getting his ass handed to him minute by minute, and for doing it without getting hot-headed or hostile. I don't fault Cramer, I fault his network. The network owns his show, and therefore owns him. He obviously has to bow to his masters when they order him to do so. They obviously don't give a shit, a point Steward nailed with his comment "it's not just you, it's larger forces at work".

Wow how hypocritical is this? Stewert is accusing Cramer of doing what he does daily...making a joke out of things.

Re: Daily Show: Jim Cramer, Unedited Pt. 2
On that note, it is pretty fascinating indeed to see some of the hardest hitting journalism in our lifetime come from a comedy show on basic cable.
No less so because Jon Stewart's Daily Show is most definitely a comedy program, and he's never been disingenuous about that fact.
At the opposite end, Jim Cramer's show is meant to be "wacky" (with, um, dated "morning DJ" sound effects...) - but it's ultimately purported to be a truthful program delivering sound financial advice that guides people's real world investments and personal fiscal solvency.
So, I guess, if we were trying to compare the two... Hmm... I guess if Jon Stewart were to put on that fake R. Kelly guy singing about keeping your money in Bear Stearns a mere day before they failed and it turned out Jon had insider knowledge direct from the CEO? And then Jon actually yelled at his viewers to keep their money there where they'd lose it? Then we'd have a valid comparison between shows.
Until that time, Jon's the only man in this clip telling the truth.

Re: Daily Show: Jim Cramer, Unedited Pt. 2
The main difference is that Jon Stewart's jokes are funny. (Also, he's not trying to steal from his viewers.)
Re: Daily Show: Jim Cramer, Unedited Pt. 2
No offense, you ninny, John Stewart says in this segment and in other interviews that the Daily Show is obviously a comedy news show. It is advertised as such, therefore, the audience knows what they are getting. Cramer and others like him purport to host shows that give real financial advice and real depictions of the market. What Cramer does, and what Crossfire (the other show that Stewart severely criticized) did, is be disingenuous about the nature and honesty of their programs.
I mean, just look at the kind of responsibility each show and network has. CNBC and Cramer have a responsibility to be honest about financial advice and commentary, using the best of their knowledge, no withholding information. Comedy Central and John Stewart have a responsibility to make people laugh; but, as of late, Stewart is taking it upon himself to take on a more serious journalistic role, probably out of frustration with modern abuses of mass media, such as Cramer's and CNBC's. For Cramer to make a fucking joke out of his job is literally millions of times more serious than John Stewart making a joke out of his job.
Don't compare Cramer and Stewart. I know you think you're holding some brilliant fringe opinion, but don't. Take some time to think before you ejaculate something stupid.

Cramer’s show is rubbish, not even fit for the local madhouse. Anyone in his or her right mind would not follow his advice; he’s wrong most of the time, not rarely lying through his teeth. The guy is a despicable piece of trash. Look how he whored himself in front of Stewart. He whines and grovels and goes into fake fits of indignation of “Let’s get the sons of bitches.”
Stewart gave him a good beating and then sent him off.
Anyway, the problem isn’t so much Cramer as it is people paying attention to him. Without ratings, he’s nothing. To me, it says enough about the network employing the fraud. The US mass broadcasting media are a bunch of cartels pandering, for the most part, to the lowest common denominator.
