What's with the "made in Germany" stuff? I thought many Americans get turned off at the mere mention of Germany oh Germany with your rolling hills and gentle pastures and strong vomen bringing in the hay oh I got carried right away. Spring always infects me with Aryan feelings. The permafrost retreating, the lemmings popping up their toothy grins everywhere and their damn squeaks. The eternal snow on the distant mountains. Soaring eagles spiraling up there waiting for the spawning salmon and trout. By God, I lope across the melting ice and snow, Wagner urging me on to slay another moose or maybe a caribou today. I think it's time to move on to another video. Yes, let's do that.

Since the 1970's and the decline of any semblance of a manufacturing economy in the US, everyone knows that "Made in the USA" means overpriced and of shoddy quality because of litigation, healthcare costs and the lazy American worker. Hence, imports of all types shot up.
Of course, now we import plastic items and poisons like melamine and lead. Only not from Germany. They do their own share of bringing in goods from other lands.
But hey, don't let me put a damper on your humorous comment. I'll just try to cheer up by humming a little verse of Edelweiss to myself.

At first I thought you tried to kick me in the balls with that "everyone knows ...," but I guess not. In general you're right about this issue, but I'd like to say that the USA still produces some excellent stuff and if only the Americans get their act together there's no stopping them. I sincerely hope you people get your act together right. There's still people out there who have great ideas, so if only more listened.

Sorry for shifting gears. I was posting a comment with only some quiet shades and overtones of seriousness. And certainly not about to kick you in the cojones.
As a whole, I'd say that the entire world is stagnating when it comes to new ideas. For the most part, I would venture a guess that the last couple of decades have been more evolutionary than revolutionary.
