Re: Louis C.K. "Ew!"
agreed. I never had anything that bad happen, but I can somehow believe he did. Whether that is the persona he's created, or actually him, who knows. I suspect his stand-up persona is very closely related to who he really is.
He's no Dane Cook.

Re: Louis C.K. "Ew!"
Whoa man, turn down the sarcasm filter and let it flow through.
A few things:
A. My comment about Dane Cook was sarcasm. I think he is the most over-rated comic in existence.
B. The last Louis CK clip posted, Meltingpenguin said that "I think he stole that from Dane Cook". Which was amusing considering everyone knows the reverse is true and Dane Cook was probably in high school in 95. Regardless, he was/is definitely a tool.
C. It was also a commentary on how close Louis CK as a comic resembles Louis CK as a person. Contrast that with Dane Cook as a 'comic' versus Dane Cook as a 'person'. I think it safe to say that Louis CK IS Louis Ck while Dane Cook is whoever he decided he wanted to steal material off of that day.
Hell, I'll take Leno over Cook. And I can't STAND Leno.

Re: Louis C.K. "Ew!"
Wow, that was close. I believe it would've been the end of your career as "some guy from the internet" if it got out that you like Dane Cook.

Re: Louis C.K. "Ew!"
Yeah, tell me about it. I would have had to like, actually talk to real people or something in real life. We can't be having any of that.

Re: Louis C.K. "Ew!"
I think Dane Cook is funny. So is Louis CK. Is there something wrong with that? or do i have to like what the rest of the sheeple like, to be considered cool?

Re: Louis C.K. "Ew!"
He certainly is no joke stealing hack. Louis deserves all the fame and fortune befitting a hard working, and more importantly, funny writer and comedian.

True enough. See my other reply above for more on this exciting topic!

Re: Louis C.K. "Ew!"
Why do people hate Dane Cook?
Dont tell me its the joke stealing thing cause its started before that.
his first two cd's were hilarious.
I really think people hate just because.. its cool to hate him right now

Re: Louis C.K. "Ew!"
Few critical points usually help comedian of his kind:
-At least 4 failed marriages and 7 kids from extramarital relationships
-Recovering from severe drug addiction
-Gaining 50lb extra, mainly at his tummy
-Some form of terminal (but not deadly) illness
-Disappearing from media for couple decades

Terminal, but not deadly?
I'm having more and more trouble differentiating people's sarcasm and stupidity on the internet from day to day.

Re: Louis C.K. "Ew!"
Thank you for pointing out. English is not my first language, so please forgive me. What I meant is something like Aids, but that doesn’t qualify as terminal disease because patients may not die from it nowadays.

Re: Louis C.K. "Ew!"
...because he's HILARIOUS if you're stoned, piss drunk, or in grade school, and is just annoying at all other times?
I'll admit, the first time I saw him do stand up, I laughed. Every time since then it's been exactly the same spastic over the top shtick with nothing new to offer. He's like an impressionist who can only do one impression. It gets very old very fast.

Re: Louis C.K. "Ew!"
He's a lot less funny after you notice that he's not telling jokes, he's just telling stories in a very funny way. If you can ignore that, it's still a good chuckle.
Probably his funniest stuff is about childhood toys and car accidents.

Re: Louis C.K. "Ew!"
Because, compared to a comic like Louis CK, comics like Dane Cook do comedy that has no relevance to real human experience. Whether or not the stories and jokes are true, Louis let's us look at our experience in a way that is not only funny, but honest. A lot of Dane Cook's material might be funny, and occasionally realistic, but realism doesn't mean humanistic. I come away from listening to Louis CK feeling less alone with my everyday bullshit life.
In the end, I don't find Dane Cook to be funny, while Louis CK is funny. I just put forth one hypothesis.
