It really is good fun to be a moderator at M&C. For example, above these words of mine there appears a comment, hidden to most but visible to the Inner Circle here at M&C. This comment was written by a fairly unknown M&Cookier whose name I shall keep a secret, but what a comment. I am left wondering who banned his/her comment, and why. Is it because of the relatively numerous use of the C word (one in every seventeen words, within a total wordage of 85 – thank you, MS Word and Calculator)? Can it possibly be the single occurrence of “fucking?” Nah, surely not; that word is as common as the act it describes, at least on this planet we live. Perhaps it is the strangely effective combination of “Nazi” and “cunt” that irked sensitive eyes? No, that cannot be the answer; I can hardly fathom someone being ticked off by that string of words. Truly, I have to look beyond superficialities and really dig deep into the motives that lurk behind sensitive eyes. Racism. Yes, it often boils down to racism. Allow me to investigate for clues. Ah! *trumpets blaring* The commenter used a racially charged word: negro. That, along with all the cunts and the fucking and the Nazi made someone snap, I think. Unfortunate. I can’t undo the damage, alas.

Next time, my dear fellow M&Cookier, study the masters of subversive prose, wherever you may find them, and practice. Practice, practice, practice, and thou shalt perhaps succeed. Know the rules, and then purposefully bend them to your will in pursuit of a better world. You can even bend them so as to make it appear you ain’t breaking any rules.
