I'm certain some folks will complain that this is just partisan bickering. But I'm sure these are the same folks who like having their email read and phone conversations listened to by a governmental agency.

Legally? How so?

Last I checked, there are privacy laws in this country. Being ignorant of them is no excuse for violating them.

With enough social engineering, I could have access to all your emails and calls.

This is sensational garbage. First of all, the US Gov doesn't have the storage capacity to hold cumulative data on every American for even ONE day.

Why do people think the US Gov is some independent entity? It's made up of law abiding US Citizen, just like you or me, and none of them would sit idly by while they watched their rights get trampled. As a Federal Employee with a clearance, I can say that with a high degree of confidence.
