I was watching Battlestar Galactica when this came on and the upload was unavoidable.

Re: Worst Commercial Placement Ever
I honestly think it is the best television show that has ever been created. I can't praise it enough -- amazing story, writing, acting, direction.
I've watched the entire series, and there have been very, very few poor episodes.. almost everything moves the story forward.
Anyway, if you watch it, watch from the beginning.
And yeah, that was the worst product placement I have EVER seen! They must have flipped out when they saw where it appeared.

NBC Universal,
Enclosed, you'll find an envelope addressed to our central office in NJ. We expect to see this envelope again, within a week, containing a check refunding us for the full amount we were charged for our advertising during Battlestar Galactica. ...You twits.
Sincerely,
Nabisco

Re: Worst Commercial Placement Ever
Righteous. However, I wish I had not watched it. I am 2 seasons behind on Battlestar Galactica and I really dislike finding out, well, anything without watching the show. Now when catching up with the rest of the show, I'm going to be watching it knowing she turns her head into a soup bowl later.
At least associating it with this commercial will make me smile.

Re: Worst Commercial Placement Ever
There should be a SPOILERS notice or something... it's not the kind of show where you want any inkling of what will happen next. I don't even watch previews...

Re: Worst Commercial Placement Ever
Tell me about it. I usually don't watch much tv, but for whatever reason over the past month or two I've been watching more random stuff. Sometimes, if I'm flipping through channels, I might catch the beginning of a BG commercial, "Find out who the last Cylon is..."
I have to avert my eyes and flip the channel because I don't even want to see what characters are in the commercials. Because if I know that, then I know they don't die earlier in the series and their scenes become that much less suspenseful.
I've become very careful about touching the Sci-fi channel with my remote and have bumped BG to the top of my netflix queue.

Re: Worst Commercial Placement Ever
Think of it like watching a Tarantino movie... You get the conclusion up front, and then work your way through the sequence of events that explains it.

Re: Worst Commercial Placement Ever
I much prefer the suspenseful route. I also prefer to see any story unfold as the author/writers intended, without foreknowledge.
I've know a couple people(and have heard of others) that will open a book to the last couple pages and read that first. They make their decision to buy/read the book based on how the story ends. I can't understand that mentality. For me, that would basically ruin much of the story.

Re: Worst Commercial Placement Ever
What timezone are you in, and who's your provider? Pretty sure Comcast here in San Francisco didn't run that ad. The placement couldn't be better for National Biscuit Company!

Re: Worst Commercial Placement Ever
Also, on Dee's doing herself in: it's a common misconception that most people commit suicide when they're at the bottom of their depression. In fact, most get the "courage" to end it only as they're rising up from the depths of their woes. As they're capable of more contemplation, but not necessarily hope. One of the reasons why anti-depressants are probably unfairly blamed when they increase incidence of suicide--likely has more to do with lack of oversight or preparation from prescribing physician.
