Dude, Someone totally spaced on that one

Being Dutch, I see business opportunities everywhere:

"Rocks! Rocks! 1 dollar! 1 dollar for a rock. A handful of pebbles 50 cents. Come see! Cheapest prices! Rocks and pebbles. Boulders only 5 dollars today! Mystery bucket 10 dollars. No, lady, you may not bring your own bricks. The mystery bucket for you? Yes? Okay, here it is. For a fair lady such as you I have added an extra rock. If you give me your phone number I'll give you another mystery bucket."

I can't say that I'm for complete legalization so much as I am for decriminalization. I'd rather not see kids constantly high (I'm being a hypocrite here as I started in the fifth grade).

Regulate it just like alcohol. Tax it, just like alcohol. Take out much of the criminal element and their profit. Yeah, I'd be for that. Sounds closer to legalization and I bet many fewer would be for the newfound status in that case.

the very notion of making a plant illegal to grow is absurd. regarding smoking it, I think that should be illegal, along with smoking tobacco or anything else (and combustion engines that spew particulates under 10 microns). HOWEVER, the drugs themselves, in this case THC and nicotine respectively, should certainly be decriminalized. if people want to alter their mental state recreationally--whether caffeine or heroine--and they're adequately informed of health and behavioral risks, then let them. the public health cost of people sooting up their lungs seems a fair enough argument against smoking. there doesn't seem to be a remotely similar cost to society with people getting high or pepped-up--provided they don't operate heavy machinery, per warnings on the label.
