Listen to those people in the audience clap when they think they are supposed to clap. Morons. See, that's wrong with America: the brainwashed hordes. If Franken hadn't been there, they would've cheered O'Reilly. Even after Franken's speech, when O'Reilly barked back like the lying coward he is, they clapped. No one in the audience, absolutely no one, stood up and said, Go fuck yourself, Clown" when O'Reilly put on his airs again, feeling threatened.

Al got it right with the "sensationalist bias," I think we can conclude. Hence O'Reilly's popularity. Reason speaks for itself, but Billy Boy shouts. Which will people hear?

There was applause for Franken, and there was (quieter) applause for O'Reilly... What makes you think it was the same people both times?

I remember former Senator Bob Kerrey explaining that the first thing you need to know in politics is how to deliver an applause line. With a live audience, any skilled comedian can defeat a better-informed opponent on just about any subject.
