The Union: The Business Behind Getting High
BC's illegal marijuana trade industry has evolved into a business giant, dubbed by some involved as 'The Union', Commanding upwards of $7 billion Canadian annually. With up to 85% of 'BC Bud' being exported to the United States, the trade has become an international issue. Follow filmmaker Adam Scorgie as he demystifies the underground market and brings to light how an industry can function while remaining illegal. Through growers, police officers, criminologists, economists, doctors, politicians and pop culture icons, Scorgie examines the cause and effect nature of the business - an industry that may be profiting more by being illegal. A really well done docu.
No matter what your position on weed, I suspect a very interesting watch.
FWIW, I've tried a few times over the past 20 years or so but haven't smoked regularly since 1984.

Good [universe.] I have seen countless documentaries on the topic since I began to become passionate about it a few years ago and thought many were inspiring and thorough. All of them combined don't scratch the surface of what they managed to cram into 105 minutes. Simply amazing. It's a shame the vast majority of people who will see it are those like myself who already prescribe to the common sense it preaches.
