I was really hoping for some kind of, I don't know, punchline. He's like Elton John, except he's kind-of-funny ON PURPOSE.

Clever, though not as funny (IMHO) as in the two other clips of Minchin that I had posted. Those were heavy into the spoof of religion, which goes a long way in my book.

10ft Cock And A Few Hundred Virgins was bloody brilliant.

Wasn't it though?

I could watch that one a few times in a row and catch some little insinuation that I hadn't quite seen or heard before.

as someone who'd never heard of this guy before, i'm still wondering what the point of this was. not really funny, not really a great song...nothing abstract or of the wall.

am i missing something?

Re: Tim Minchin: Not Perfect
Indeed not one of his best pieces. I think he stuimbles over a problem that almost every musician-slash-comedian sometimes faces: This song justs sounds like he wanted to be more of a musician while wriiting it than a comedian. In that case of course you disappoint all those who like the comic touch more. Doing both at that same time just is hard work.

Still I think even in this song you can see what potential lies within this man. And on a sidenote: Sorry to bring this up, but he sounds like a f***in' James Blunt-copy in this piece.
