Not Working?
Circa 1941 and 6:54, this is the first cartoon where he was the solo star. WW appeared once prior along with Andy Panda in Knock-Knock (1940).
Woody Woodpecker sings, "Everybody thinks I'm crazy." The other animals manage to convince him that he is, so he sees a shrink named Dr. Horace N. Buggy, a fox who's as crazy as he is. Woody heckles Dr. Buggy - hilarity ensues.

Re: Woody Woodpecker: Woody Woodpecker
Wait! Is that Hitler sitting next to Woody in the movie theater during the last 25 seconds?! Or was that the very last guy to have an Adolph 'stache...
I hadn't seen this one before, but it's joyously manic.
I wish I did film editing. I'd love to see someone do a mashup of this and the dystopian 12 Monkeys.

Re: Woody Woodpecker: Woody Woodpecker
I've always liked Mel Blanc, but Woody was just too much like Daffy. I don't know which came first. The later voices for Woody Woodpecker were a bit better.

Ja, I'm far more familiar with the more recent WW. That's probably why I am so enamored with the first few versions.
