Truly an epic song. From the Neil Young album of the same name, 1970.
Of course, I cringed at two obvious changes in the lyrics...
Look at Mother Nature on the run in the 20th Century (changed from 1970's). Okay, this I could live with.
There was a band playing in my head... felt like I could cry (was felt like getting high). Blasphemy!

CMT, where you can sing "Put a Boot Up Their Ass," and can't make a reference to pot.

Yeah, I was really digging this take on the song until the bowlderizing of the "felt like getting high" line....
I mean, the poignancy of that line is partly that he *feels* like getting high.
And it's not necessarily a pot reference -- if you were lying in a burned-out basement, your choice of high might be a little more hardcore...
