There Are No Dumb Questions
Jesse Ventura is just doing his job.

Re: There Are No Dumb Questions
"All truth goes through three stages: First it is ridiculed; second it is

violently opposed; and third, it is accepted as self-evident." - Arthur Shopenhauer

We're currently at Stage 2.

And for the record, I'm not one of those people convinced 9/11 was an inside job. I think there are too many open questions to close this book on the actual mechanics of 9/11. I'm no engineer. Besides, 9/11 is one day. What we do know for certain is what happened to us in the aftermath of 9/11.

In fact, the only thing we do know is that the Bush/Cheney administration used 9/11 to advance their policies - and for their own personal economic gain. What came after 9/11 is the very plan that Cheney/Wolfowitz/Rumsfeld/etc's Project for a New American Century called for before they ever took office.

"Simply stated, there is no doubt that Saddam Hussein now has Weapons of Mass Destruction..." - Dick Cheney

But, uh, you do know that 9/11 was carried out by a majority of Saudis, don't ya, Dick? Not Iraq at all, yeah?

Right now we're at Stage 2. Whether it's Bill Maher or that weird troll with the beard sitting to Jesse's left, people are angry with anyone who simply has questions. Even in a nation where we claim to love Freedom. Even in a country where the majority of 9/11 victims believe they've never heard the true story or received their justice.

So we attack those who would ask the questions.

And speaking of, it's curious how these "newspeople" have so much courage to take Jesse Ventura to task simply for asking his questions. In America, The Land of the Free...

Their corporate bias betrays them. And that's why neither they nor any other newspeople come even close to having the same investigative reporting candor with any actual administration officials.

And then at the end of the clip when the reporter asks Jesse, "Even if you're right, why should you worry about it?"

Excuse me? Did I just hear you right?

Even if it's true, we shouldn't worry about it? Yeah, tell that to the victims. How pathetic that this could even be considered a rational question to an American reporter's mind. But that's the state of corporate journalism and political puppets these days.

Erasing personality is the plan; the plan is living death.

Conformity, conformity, conformity, the surest way to make it in this world.

Real people, however, choose real death over conformity - unless conformity is worn like a disguise ...

Re: There Are No Dumb Questions
I don't beleive that they ever said Iraq had anything to do with 9/11. However, it does have much to do with the war on terror. 4 reasons why a country should have it's regime changed: Invades another sovreign nation with intent of conquest, participates or condones genocide, violate a non-proliferation treaty, support terrorism. Saddam has done three for certain, and the WMDs were the last straw for us to go in, not 9/11.

Right. And it's just coincidental the timing of THEIR invasion of Iraq.

Re: There Are No Dumb Questions
They invaded Iraq because nuclear weapons inspectors were not allowed into Iraq.

How does coincidence imply design?

Re: There Are No Dumb Questions
popular mechanics did a great piece debunking all the engineering related 9/11 myths how burning kerosene can cause metal to fail etc. it covers pretty much every aspect of the conspiracy theory that i have heard. enjoy

Re: There Are No Dumb Questions
I read it, dont buy it. Who owns popoular mechanics? Oh, thats right, the Hearst Corporation.

By the way i like how claim is in RED (BAAD), and fact is in GREEN( GOOOD).

most of the "debunking" was typical O'reilly factor explanation and "expert" opinion.

Having a degree in statistics I would attribute the probability of the government having nothing to do with 911 at about 35%.

Re: There Are No Dumb Questions
So, because they are a corporation, they cannot be trusted?

Stop being afraid of everyone. If you think they would be able to get away with BSing their readers, you don't know what magazine you're looking at. This isn't MAXIM's 10 tips for getting a hottie to hit you like a trade center.

Re: There Are No Dumb Questions
He never said they can't be trusted because they're a corporation. He said they can't be trusted because they're the Hearst Corporation. Big difference.

You've exaggerated a false claim - one that Leopold never even made... Just like no one said anything about "being afraid of everyone." You're the only one saying that.

And actually, yellow journalists like the Hearst Corporation have been getting away with BS'ing the American readers ever since the Spanish-American War...

Re: There Are No Dumb Questions
If u spend a couple of minutes reading about the publications hearst owns and the companies they have stock in, i think that some doubt about the objectivity of a 911 debunk article is warranted.

And I never said corporations were bad, i work for one, my dad does as well. Many corporations have done great things for humanity, but many have done very bad things, it must be taken on case by case basic. Media corporations IMHO must be regarded with extra scrutiny as they are the owners of info, the new weapons of our age.

Re: There Are No Dumb Questions
:) Thanks, man. I'm pretty sure everybody's read that Popular Mechnics piece by now...

And when it came out, I actually *did* think it made sense. Like I said, I'm no engineer... But then Popular Mechanics and the article itself have been debunked.

They're bogus.

Plus you'll notice that we've deftly moved our focus from the *Aftermath* of 9/11 to the *mechanics* of 9/11. Which is a shame because the Aftermath is the truth we know. And the Aftermath is where we saw our loss of freedoms, the costly occupation of a foreign nation, the destruction of our economic stability, etc.

But let's look at the Popular Mechanics piece so we can get it out of the way.

Per Leopold, the magazine is indeed published by the most infamous yellow journalists since the Spanish-American War, the Hearst Corporation - which itself is overseen by Cathleen Black. She's a corporatist member on the Council on Foreign Relations. Yep.

Oh, and Black's husband? He's a former staffer from the Director of Central Intelligence (DCI) and a Bush political-appointee who previously worked on the Bush '92 campaign. He also worked in a law firm directly with another former member of the DCI...who just happens to be on the Homeland Security Advisory Council. Hmm...

Oh, and Black's husband was a higher-up in the U.S. Information Agency, the folks self-described as winning public support for one's government and its foreign policies...

Now does this mean Black ghost-wrote this article? :) Absolutely not. But it does show the background and environmental mindset of Cathleen Black - and it helps explain why she formulated a takeover at Popular Mechanics and why she hired a whole new, loyal staff only months before their infamous 9/11 article...

And speaking of, the author of this Popular Mechanics piece? A 25-year-old young man who started his career working on "Urban Legends" at New York's Time Out Magazine before moving on to Men's Journal. Mm hm... Which isn't to say he didn't work with scientists on this piece. He did. But then his approach and reliability are deemed far different from that of an experienced scientist.

Someone like, for example, Dr. Steven Jones, a physicist known for his work on muon-catalyzed (aka cold) fusion.

Dr. Jones differs from the Operation Mockingbird-styled Popular Mechanics and its young 25-year-old writer in that Dr. Jones has no personal or financial stake in the matter. In fact, Dr. Jones was negatively impacted by his studies after he was pushed out of BYU who then attempted to discredit his science. Welcome to Stage Two.

And all this is odd because Dr. Jones has written reports which have actually *agreed* with aspects of the official story. So which parts shall we attempt to discredit, hm? :)

But Dr. Jones made the crucial mistake of using his skills, scientific knowledge, and background in physics to demonstrate that the complete official story is not workable. It's untrue. Dr. Jones has said the physics of 9/11's official story don't work. And he's not the only scientist to say so...

So here's the question. Why would we trump these real scientists who point out the impossibility of the official story over a 25-year-old kid with the backing (and editorial direction) of a corporate magazine that has long been a mouthpiece for the military industry, is backed by the CIA and tied to Bush nepotism, and even runs full page ads in support of the Iraq War?

We wouldn't. Popular Mechanics has no credibility.

But all that said, who knows? I generally consider "official story conspiracy theorists" no different from those who think there were no planes (just radio controlled holograms or something :). Both sides seem extreme. One talks about radio-controlled planes and the other ignores that a third building collapsed. In fact, even the NIST says they are unable to provide a full explanation of the total collapses on 9/11.

So why should we discard the National Institute of Standards and Technology or independent scientists in favor of a corporate magazine? We wouldn't. And like with most things, the real answer to the mechanics of 9/11 probably lies somewhere in between.

And so the only thing we do know is the Aftermath. Because the Aftermath of 9/11? It has affected us all.

Just like the government's use of the Gulf of Tonkin or Pearl Harbor, the Bush/Cheney Administration used 9/11 to give themselves carte blance to carry out their own agenda. Which we've come to see was quite nefarious and self-serving as they destroyed our liberties and bankrupted our nation in a war that had nothing to do with 9/11 - all the while lining their own pockets.

And their plan came from an agenda that Cheney, et al had written as part of PNAC...years before 9/11 ever happened...

Re: There Are No Dumb Questions
Your whole arguement, however very well researched, is still an ad hominem.

Re: There Are No Dumb Questions
:) Sure, why not. That's why you felt compelled to respond with a triple cluster of troll posts.

p.s. Reviewing the background of your sources isn't ad hominem. Identifying background is how the reputable from scientists to police research and analyze. But it's nice you felt the need to try to chime in with your usual thing, cheez...

Re: There Are No Dumb Questions
You still have to explain why Popular mechanics explainations are false.

Re: There Are No Dumb Questions
[shrugs] If you say so. Sorry you can't follow the previous accounting - just like how you didn't understand ad hominem... Hm, we're seeing a trend with you, eh? :)

But just because you didn't understand the agenda, mindset, and background described above doesn't necessatate that others have to retype things just for you.

In addition to being unnecessary, that'd be like giving you a handout. Welfare.

Let's see. What's to do... Okay. Actually, let's have you explain why Popular Mechanics' explanations are true. Something more than your usual line or two? (psst...this is what is known as "debate." :)

And who knows? If you were to actually do a little research/analysis/debate of your own, folks might even see you as more than just another troll...

Looking forward to seeing your piece. Thx, cheez.

Re: There Are No Dumb Questions
Maybe I didn't articulate myself enough. When I ask you to explain why they're explainations aren't true, I meant why isn't their claim that the wtc 7 fell due to poor structrual design, structrual damage, and intense fires along with all the other claims made by PM are false.

"let's have you explain why Popular Mechanics' explanations are true"

Why don't you read the article for yourself? I think they're true because the arguements are laid out in a factual manner, without the need to rely on their credibility, that completley rebuttal the claims by the consipiracy theorists which are properly citated and not strawmanned.

BTW a troll is someone who pretends to be someone their not just to get a reaction.
