Not Working?
Can't tell you how many times it took to make this work, but it was a lot.
Shout out to "Lars" and the rest of the Brierwood Vandals!
Prisoner of Society by The Living End - best song on Guitar Hero WT.

Re: Bike Hero
Ever think you had spare time on your hands? Yeah, this probably trumps it.
Not perfect, but then, who is? Very impressive.

Re: Bike Hero
By any standard, this is amazing. Pick your standard: skill, creativity, athleticism, courage, pointlessness...very, very cool.
Re: Bike Hero
in the time it took you to film that you could have gotten a PhD in astrophysics

Re: Bike Hero
I don't get it. Seems more like a massive time investment vice an amazing skill.
This is an honest question... what was he doing other than riding the bike over the trail of colored dots? Was he also hitting buttons or were they going off on their own? Seems like his hands were planted on the handle bars the entire time.
Were the colored lights on the bike attached to some sort of sensor that indicated when he went over a dot?
If so that's impressive. If not, meh.

Re: Bike Hero
It's in the same vein as the kid who does "Harder Faster Stronger Better" on his hands.
Yes, the actual physical feat is nothing impressive. Yes, the time that went into the project COULD, in theory, have gone into curing cancer or AIDS or something.
But it's taking something very normal and mundane and making it into something new and different. Public art for the sake of public art is something that should be encouraged more often.

Re: Bike Hero
I think every video walks the line between being impressive and sad. For whatever reason, with this video, it just seems sad. I mean the amount of time they must have spent doing this just doesn't surpass the coolness of the video. Honestly I thought the video got pretty boring. Which returns me to my initial point...I think this video is just sad.
The guy dressed up like Kiss was cool though.

Re: Bike Hero
He was dressed like Lars Umlaut (or whatever his name is) from the game, sort of a Kiss parody/knock-off thing.

Re: Bike Hero
I hope you all aren't assuming the entire thing is real.
Seems fake to me.

Re: Bike Hero
I'm with you, i doubt that it is real, but still fun to watch and it's a damn good song

Re: Bike Hero
Fake or not, I don't understand why this video is cool at all.
If this was for some contest or there was some reason people decided to dedicate so much time to this.
Else, if this was just some guys who like guitar hero... seriously. Start a *real* band.

Re: Bike Hero
Right. People shouldn't play video games, like GTA. They should enact them in real life.
It's a video game that makes people happy. Leave 'em alone.

And you should have "real" conversations instead of fake ones on the Internet.

Re: Bike Hero
According to this it is fake: http://www.gamecyte.com/bike-hero-viral-video-a-fake-designed-by-ad-agency-droga5
Bummer. Viral marketing is destroying my faith in humanity.
It sucks that we now have to have that lingering question of "fake?" in the back of our head now.
As I stated above, public art for the sake of public art should be encouraged, and viral marketing like this is only discouraging it.
Bah. Maybe I'll luck out and find out that the post about it being fake is fake, but upon a second viewing it does seem like some of the "notes" on the road wiggle around. :(
