McCain: "Every Pressure to Bear" to Stop Obama/Wright Ad >>
Rick Sanchez gives Ben Ferguson just enough rope to hang himself on his claim that Reverend Wright is anti-semitic.
Ferguson claims to know more about who is and isn't anti-Isael than the Anti-Defamation League.

Re: Rick Sanchez Schools Republican Ben Ferguson
Until people get that supporting both Palestinians and Israelis is a legitimate point of view, I don't think we're ever going to get peace out there. And blindly supporting everything Israel does, and hiding behind Judaism--if you don't agree with Israel, you must be an Anti-Semite!--really waters down the true meaning of anti-Antisemitism. All governments do some really shitty things. Don't make one government untouchable because criticism of it becomes criticism of a people, culture and religion.

"They hate our Freedom."
--Classic conservative talking point in reference to Muslim Extremists.
The fact is, they don't. They despise some of the side effects of that freedom, such as our sexual liberation (or, in their eyes, our sexual perversion), but then, so do many conservative Americans. If you ever take the time to read any of the transcripts from the Osama Bin Laden videos, or any of the essays he, or any of his immediate followers have published, you'll see that our blind support of Israel is among the top of their reasons for hating us. That, and our exploitation of what they see as their holly lands, such as Palestine, Saudi Arabia, and now Iraq. It will be a while before any American politician can successfully argue that we need to hold ALL the leaders of that region accountable without being labeled as an anti-Semite. (Ron Paul made pretty good headway on that ground, but his label by main-stream politicians and media is more "wacko" than "anti-Semite.") And, therefore, it will be a while before America can really expect to see anything that resembles peace in the Middle East.

Re: Rick Sanchez Schools Republican Ben Ferguson
I like holly. It's a great plant for birds especially.
Re: Rick Sanchez Schools Republican Ben Ferguson
Really, you like the plant? I'm more a fan of the tree version myself. However, I really prefer mistletoe myself. It's great for getting the a free kiss from the ladies.

Re: Rick Sanchez Schools Republican Ben Ferguson
Trees are plants. We're both talking about Ilex species. I'm not sure about all of them, but many are indeed easily capable of growing into (relatively small) trees.
Talking about ladies, be sure to get one or more pretty ones to eat mandrake ...

Re: Rick Sanchez Schools Republican Ben Ferguson
while that may be technically true, when I (and I believe a great many people) hear the word 'plant', I think of a more shrubbery-like object.
As for the mandrake, exactly how should I get her to eat it/prepare it for consumption? Pick your fictional real world/fictional world and it could be anything from a cure-all to a conception concoction to a lethal poison. I don't need to be anyone's baby daddy(murder though, is perfectly acceptable).

Re: Rick Sanchez Schools Republican Ben Ferguson
Just eat it raw. Let her eat first, and then you take a bite, or vice versa.
Re: Rick Sanchez Schools Republican Ben Ferguson
I have forgotten where I heard this (I'm not going to take credit for it), but if they hate freedom so much, why don't they attack Norway?
By: spam_vigilante
Re: Rick Sanchez Schools Republican Ben Ferguson
Norwegians are very much like hobbits, living in holes deep underground, with trees, trees, and more trees for hundreds of miles in all directions.
(Sometimes, these Americans can be so ignorant.)

Re: Rick Sanchez Schools Republican Ben Ferguson
Hear, hear. Just because you don't support *every single agenda* Israel projects in the Middle East does not somehow make you an anti-Semite...
p.s. This kid is so dense. Cable news denigrates itself by the very "experts" they bring on.

Re: Rick Sanchez Schools Republican Ben Ferguson
But this time they did their homework.
Re: Rick Sanchez Schools Republican Ben Ferguson
Ah yes... But I think the media has learned much from Fox. They bring on an "expert" (an expert "chump" is more like it, am I right? High fiiiive! What? Nothing? Huh...) and slam him to make their agenda.
That said, I enjoyed the heck out this...

Re: Rick Sanchez Schools Republican Ben Ferguson
My favorite argument from Ferguson is that since some Palestinians prefer Obama, therefore Obama is anti-semitic. Wow. What a a piece of work.
Hey Ben, I have the transcript in front of me on my desk. Whoops, Ben, I just happen to have a copy of that church newsletter right here. Oh, hey, Ben, we called up the ADL last night, and they gave us a statement.
Show us your goods, babay!

Merging multiple discussions and sidebars here... If some trees are conifers, then a maple tree is an evergreen. Heh.

Re: Rick Sanchez Schools Republican Ben Ferguson
I am shocked to see newscasters actually doing some reporting! I had forgotten that they have the ability to fact check these things and challenge false statements and spin... neat!
