Originally from 1976 (episode 17 of the 1st season of the Muppet Show), and sung by Mahna Mahna and the two Snowths, the Mahna Mahna song was reborn as the Phenomena song in episode 7 of Muppets Tonight (broadcast 20/9/96 in the UK, 23/6/96 in the US).
The Phenomena song was performed by Dr.
(Sandra) Bullock the Animal Psychiatrist, who was visited by Kermit.
Kermit's problem was that he saw strange creatures whenever he said the word "phenomena".

this song actually existed a long time before the muppet show. it was originally written in the mid-1960s and when sesame street came along, they made a deal with the composer of the song... now if i could only remember who the original composer was, and who originally recorded it...

according to some search engine, Mah na mah na first appeared first on Svezia, Inferno e Paradiso in 1968, composer Piero Umiliani.

all you gotta do is know how to spell mah-na-mah-na... i found the original composer, a recording, lyrics, sheet music and more with the correct spelling... thanks! 8)
