Re: Colin Powell Endorses Barack Obama
Collin Powell's underlying message is really saying, "Okay, White Middle America, relax. It's okay to vote for Barack. "That one' is really one of the 'good ones.'"

When I was in the Army (back when Gen. Powell served as well), he was laughed at as a stooge who did whatever he was told by political/industry powers just to advance his career. Powell was a joke whereas Stormin' Norman was much more well-liked.

And hence it was to none of our surprise that Powell ended up shilling on W's cabinet while Stormin' Norman retired to Fiji or somewhere sippin' on a mai tai.

So whenever Powell trots out from whatever rock he normally hides under to shill for anything - like when he told the world there were WMDs in Iraq? - we immediately know two things.

One is that he was given clear marching orders and followed them (like a good lil' soldier). And two that, as a corporatist, whatever comes out of Powell's mouthpiece, just like when he shilled Iraq/WMDs, is to support the multinational corporate power's will.

I'm sure the NeoCons and their automatons who believe they're Republicans (ps - you aren't) just had their minds implode when Powell advocated Obama.

But for most here at M&C, it's none too surprising given our long discussions on Obama being the corporate choice. (And maybe Obama will get in office and pull a JFK and do the right thing...ya never know...)

If the CIA or, to be more precise, some really shadowy secret service, thinks Obama is stepping out of line, he'll be warned first. If the puppet pulls out a big scissor and cuts the strings, poof! he'll be mown down quickly. I've learned long ago that money makes the world go round.

But there's no worry at all: Obama is the Complete Puppet.

Say, when's the Greater Depression getting started? Must require some playing around with mirrors to keep this current system going. I think the bankers are all putting their money on December's consuming spree, which might delay the crash for a while longer. I suspect it will be during Obama's first months that they or others pull the plug. Isn't it so that they think blacks have been invented to clean up the mess? Broom factories are mushrooming on Chinese soil right now.

Colin Powell, pfff. It would be mighty great to resurrect Patton, who'd immediately proceed to kick Powell's face back to the Stone Age.

Here's a Dutch word that fits Powell like a glove: hielenlikker.

Actually, I do think there's an effort going on right now to build up blame for the Depression and lay it upon the poor and minorities in 2009. We're seeing the fevered ravings of a groundswell blaming affordable housing projects, ACORN, etc for all our financial and political woes.

And when McCain rallies start to look like KKK meetings? You get the feeling that the Brownshirts are moving into the neighborhood...

Speaking of brown - does hielenlikker mean "he whose waggled tongue spouts the stain of corporate brown?" Ew... ;)

And I agree - these $2 Trillion Dollar Buyouts, Private Ownership of Banks, etc are only to stave off the Depression for a few more months... This forced Socialism only makes it worse in the long run, but it buys the current folks a little more time to keep their wealth and take their money out of US Dollars. It's a last-minute grab on their way out the door.

No wonder the NeoCons ran a joke ticket against Obama. They can't wait to stick it to him. And yet he probably can't wait to do their bidding in their next phase...

Hielenlikker: toady, sycophant. Striking examples are legion.

Wow. Colin Powell gives a heck of a thumbs -- Obama's odds improve some more.

Ya know, I sometimes wonder how a nice man like Mr Powell could get in with the wrong crowd. He was just too smart for those hooligans. Shame his talents were put to global mischief and vandalism and theft.

No, not suggesting Powell was a neocon. I'm not that uninformed about him. My understanding is that he was a pillar of the 'let's go to Iraq' experience; without him, the show might not have gone on.
