Christiane Amanpour is wrong! Japan did take over a decade to recover form their crash in the 1990's, but they based their recovery on F.D.Roosevelts recovery plain. They created public works programs which created Jobs and fixed the countries infer-structure.
And it Worked. Today Japan is the only major democratic country in the world not effected by this Great Depression of 2008-2009.
Christiane claims that, because Japan took the long cautious road, instead of the "let it ride" "all or nothing" modern Republican strategy.
Many Senators claimed that this short term riskier way, was the only way. That there was no plain "B".
As a country we just bet the rent money on a long shot
And any smart man knows long shots are for suckers and junkies.
