From up in the stands, you can hear the boos more loudly. Seems your friends at Fox chose to mute the crowd noise as best they could in order to call it "mixed" reaction from the crowd.

C'mon. Be serious.
I actually watched about a half hour of Fox News this evening just to see how they are presenting the election news. Did you know that McCain gained a point in the Gallup Daily Tracking Poll and that the lead was now only 5%? (3 seconds later a graphic appears showing the 5% number to be a Rassmussen poll of voters leaning one way or another)
I guess journalism in this country has become a cafeteria affair. Get the news the way you like it, however you like it. Sounds more like editorial to me, but hey... just my opinion.

Not that I would try to ever defend Palin in any way, but this is Philly after all. I grew up and live in the shadow of that town and have been to numerous sporting events.
Philly fans will boo just about anything. The opposition, their own team, injured players, Santa Claus. So, you do need to take it with a grain of salt.

I think the only fans that might be worse to their own players are Wembley fans. They'd boo their own player after he scored a goal, if they didn't like him.

Than if Phillies fans boo everything, than why subject Palin to that crowd? If they want good PR, they should choose a better venue where fans would not boo as much. Of course, this campaign has been so poorly managed that it does not surprise me that they put the hockey mom in front of this crowd.

Because Pennsylvania is a one of the battleground states, that McCain appears to be losing. So, he sends his shill into the lions den(she's a good christian) to be mauled by the mob.
Seriously, he might have the teeniest little chance of scraping Pennsylvania from Obama at this point, but only if something dramatic happens. However, there is NO chance that he will win Philly. His only chance of winning PA is to win the blue collar suburban and rural towns...where Biden grew up and is steadily helping to win over to Obama's side.
Of course, Philly fans only boo what they don't like. If you make a really boneheaded play, they will boo you...loudly. However, if you do something to redeem yourself in an admirable fashion, they will cheer you.
They can be a little extreme, but they are by and large, fair. They are just very passionate about what they like and dislike and are not afraid to let you know.

Very true. I will say that Philly fans are honest and not shy about voicing their opinions.
They're also usually as entertaining as the game going on. When the boo birds come out, they're not muted in the slightest.
