"Obama is an Arab"-Says McCain Volunteer in Letters
More at http://www.theuptake.org Gayle Quinnel, a John McCain supporter says at a McCain Rally that "Obama is an Arab". She is quickly corrected by John McCain who takes away her microphone. This is an interview with her done by a live streaming cell phone. Interviewers include Noah Kunin, Senior Political Correspondent from The UpTake, Adam Aigner of NBC News and Dana Bash of CNN. Quinnel cited that she obtained the information on Obama being an Arab at "her local library" and from a pamphlet obtained at a local McCain campaign office (provided by a fellow volunteer not the campaign itself). She has taken it upon herself to redistribute the information as widely as possible by making copies of the pamphlet and sending it to random names in the phone book

Just out of curiosity, does she realize that Obama was born in the State of Hawaii as opposed to McCain in the Canal Zone? McCain needed a law passed (albeit retroactively) a year after his birth in order to even be considered a US citizen.

A few things:
One, your comment leads me to believe that Obama was spat out by a volcano, and McCain was pumped out the regular way, what with your Canal Zone and all that.
Two, it had slipped my mind sort of that McCain isn't even eligible to become a US President. Applying the laws of logic here, that would mean I am allowed to run for that lofty office, too. Of course, I'd have to become a US citizen first, but that's easily done. But if you'll excuse me, I have to decline for the moment; I think many would be out to eliminate me if I ever got close to winning. Who would tolerate to turn the White House lawns into a breeding ground for snow rabbits? or renaming the First Lady as Alpha Lady? Also, Father Christmas wouldn't be able to visit Washington, DC, anymore because I like reindeer. If Father Christmas switches to sumo wrestlers, he'd be fine, though.

It occurs to me that there is a way to stop negative campaigning tv and radio ads dead in their tracks. Simply make some small stipulations that the candidates must voice and appear in ANY campaign ad made. NO music, NO ominous, deep voiced narrator, NO boilerplate "...and I approved this message.", just the message being given from their lips to our ears. I am sure this would keep a lid on any wild accusations, and would ensure that the candidate would think twice about mudslinging .
