Charlie Rose Interviews Ross Perot (First Visit)
Charlie Rose conducted this interview with Ross Perot on May 11, 1993. Almost 20 million people voted for Perot in 1992 (and perhaps millions more). The Democrats and Republicans didn't like that one bit, and later managed to almost completely rig the system in their favor.

He was a little quirky but really mounted a challenge to free thinkers in the US.

Politics would be so much better in the US with additional political parties that actually have a chance to lead.

Re: Charlie Rose Interviews Ross Perot
Since we were the first modern democracy, i think we got it a little wrong. I'm in favor of proportional representation, instant runoff voting, and public financing of elections. I don't think you need the instant runoff and proportional, but some combination of the two. I think that these things would give us a truer democracy than the one now since our "representatives" would not be beholden to the special interest groups. AND they would have to intellectually compete with the Green Party, Libertarian Party etc...

Other countries do this and it works great for them, so I think it could also work really well here. But I'll be realistic, it probably won't happen for a LONG time, if at all. I fear though that our democracy is at the point where it is about to be lost (if it isn't gone already) and we will be forced to make serious changes if we are to keep it. I just don't think the people have the will to fight for it.
