You might also want to explain why CBS edited a Katie Couric/John McCain interview in a way that made him look *better,* by removing a potentially embarrassing answer and replacing it with an answer to a different question.

If only Fox news changed its logo to, "news you can trust" or some boilerplate like that, and only hire leftist ed-op columnists along the lines of Matthews, Olberman and Maddow, then they could get away with being partisan from the other side, and Goebells would completely blow his wad because there would be no more media outlets with opposing political viewpoints.

You don't get it. Libs don't like it when Olberman is so crazily skewed either, although we do find it entertaining. We also don't claim that MSNBC doesn't have a bias towards the left. What is annoying is that Fox constantly touts the "fair and balanced" slogan when they're clearly NOT, and that conservatives actually buy their line of BS.
Watch the whole video again and take special note of the point when the radio host talks about how Bill is always saying that he tells nothing but the truth, then come back and join the discussion again.

I dunno if that's a fair representation. I know plenty of "liberals" that eat up Olbermann, and I know plenty of "conservatives" that can't stand O'Reilly.
I do, however, think that the "left" media is a) at least slightly better with their fact-checking, b) more honest about their bias, and c) funnier than the "right" media (when they mean to be funny).

I agree with your first statement... A lot of times when Olbermann clips are played here on M&C I feel like a lot of the comments that people post here praise him more than he deserves. When I see his show it makes me think of people like my grandfather who are die-hard republicans. When he sees people with viewpoints like Olbermann's, my grandfather probably feels like all of his own radical right-winged beliefs are justified.

O'Reilly used to be a decent reporter. However, he's become so opinionated and biased in the last couple years that he just is not a reporter anymore.
Fox should say as it's logo "We report horrendously skewed news. You decide if it's true or not." Then offer some awards for what is actually true when we figure it out. They have made so many biased blunders and I still just wince every time I think of the 'terrorist fistjab' line. I have no idea why people still watch Fox News. It's always been bad but it's clearly been worse now.
Also, people don't seem to know that part of Bush's impeachment report stated in it that Fox News had posted commentary from the White House without reporting that it did in fact not come from a journalist but from Bush and co. This is also very wrong. Sure, reporters cannot be totally neutral, but Fox is just pathetic. They should really stop with politics and just report stuff on media celebs. At least then we can trust them about as much as we do The Enquirer.

That could be the logo of any mainstream news organization, from the 3 big networks, CNN, MSNBC, to every major newspaper publication in the country, every acedemic institution, PBS and NPR, even hollywood. Except that they all lean leftward.
Fox news and perhaps the Wall-street Journal are the only mainstream news organizations that have a conservative bias. The other ones like the Washington Times and the New York Sun - nobody reads.

Um, Franken is not criticizing O'Reilly for being partisan. He's criticizing him for being a liar. O'Reilly deliberately distorted the content of the interview in order to mislead the viewer. That is a serious breach of ethics for someone who fancies himself a journalist.
Olbermann, Maddow, et al. certainly have a partisan point of view, but they do not pull dirty stunts like this.
