Out of interest would this have brought a lump to your throat if it had been McCain or Palin?. If it was Palin would the title for this video have read "Palin exploits dead family to boost campaign"? Please note, I am in no way implying Mr Biden has exploited his family, he has my utmost respect.

Careful of trolling. I think most of would have had the same lump if it were McCain or Palin, if it were sincere and unplanned as this seems to be. Regardless of our political leanings.
If there is a difference, it might be that Palin's willingly includes the details of her personal life in her portfolio of presidential qualifications. Biden, on the other hand, and McCain too, tend to keep their private lives out of the spotlight. That might make me a little less moved if it were her that shed a tear, but really probably not.
