And in Denver, the citys police union has printed commemorative t-shirts joking about police brutality at the Democratic National Convention when police arrested 154 people. The shirt reads, "We get up early, to beat the crowds. 2008 DNC. The t-shirt shows a grinning police officer holding a baton.

To put a finer point on it, the Denver Police shirt says "We get up early to BEAT the crowds." (with the fully-capitalized "BEAT the crowds" made quite obvious)
Oddly enough, there were even a few people here at M&C who still tried to deny that the Denver Police's violent crowd control was fully institutionalized and promoted from within.
