Yeah, guys, the man is on something, first of all, and who knows what he did? The point is, someone called the cops and if they just let the man go, whoever called is gonna be pissed and maybe make an issue of it. The alternative is to charge him with the crime, which they can't do if he is free to run away.
Believe me, I hate rogue dickhead cops - there are a lot of them, and they are a problem - but I don't begrudge these guys what they did. All they wanted to do was get the guy in cuffs and in the car.
