Re: Jack Cafferty Tells Us How He Really Feels about Sarah Palin
Cafferty calling it like it is, while Faux News will laud the Alaska governor's little discussion with Couric as "a brilliant performance", which of course Faux viewers will never bother to see, as they seem to like their opinions predigested by others and never mind the facts, their minds are already made up on the matter, at the core it's all about God, guns and gays.
Damn, I wish it was the first Wednesday in November already, so we could get this grotesque circus out of our lives.

Cafferty has brains. He's good.
Re: Jack Cafferty Tells Us How He Really Feels about Sarah Palin
... and mind you, Jack Cafferty is very conservative-leaning.

Which gives his objection all the more potency. Don't ya think?
I know very little about the guy, so I ain't one to properly judge his character or his ideology. Personally, I only care about a persons capacity to be rational and express genuine authenticity when they speak (exceptions when they're funny). This Cafferty guy sounds intelligent; strong in his opinion; doesn't hold back his resentment even though it may upset some of his audience... and it has to be, even marginally, damaging to McCain's campaign.... Ya, Cafferty seems worth listening to.
...least 'til I see something that gives me reason to not. Why not?
Tell ya somethin else, I have no problem with some conservative viewpoints. Most often I may not agree with those viewpoints - especially with social issues - but I absolutely try to respect them when they are right. Just as I would with some bleeding heart spastic hippie who smells foul and doesn't believe in proper grooming... or working... or shutting his/her annoying mouth until their opinion is required (never).
It's less interference for the coolassmuthafucka opinions; like mine.

He reminds me of those news guys of old, Reisner... oh, crap, I can remember the other guys names! I can see their faces and remember how much class and respect they had for people and the news.
To see someone to just go off and rip down a politician, he has come to see it for all that it's worth!

I was waiting for Palin to say 'Sorry what was your question again?'.

Re: Jack Cafferty Tells Us How He Really Feels about Sarah Palin
She reminds me kind of of a pothead when she talks. All rambling and shit.
But for serious, if it hadn't been for Cheney, I don't think anyone would be scared of her. Remember Qualye? He was entertaining, like a guy who won a contest, pulled a token out of a bag of Doritos or something and got to become vice president! No one actually thought he'd do anything. Perfectly harmless, all misjudging spelling bees and shit. Everyone hoping he'd end up somewhere with a toilet seat cover in his pants or black beans in his teeth.
But Cheney allowed this nutbag to have some power, for reals for reals.
Transcript of her rambling. Doesn't it seem like she's a high-functioning pothead? Can't you have a certain number of medicinal plants in Alaska?

COURIC: Why isn't it better, Governor Palin, to spend $700 billion helping middle-class families who are struggling with health care, housing, gas and groceries; allow them to spend more and put more money into the economy instead of helping these big financial institutions that played a role in creating this mess?
PALIN: That's why I say I, like every American I'm speaking with, we're ill about this position that we have been put in where it is the taxpayers looking to bail out. But ultimately, what the bailout does is help those who are concerned about the health-care reform that is needed to help shore up our economy, helping the—it's got to be all about job creation, too, shoring up our economy and putting it back on the right track. So health-care reform and reducing taxes and reining in spending has got to accompany tax reductions and tax relief for Americans. And trade, we've got to see trade as opportunity, not as a competitive, scary thing. But one in five jobs being created in the trade sector today, we've got to look at that as more opportunity. All those things under the umbrella of job creation. This bailout is a part of that.

"high-functioning pothead?" You give her too much credit, I think. Mid-functioning. At best. ;-)

Re: Jack Cafferty Tells Us How He Really Feels about Sarah Palin
You either smoked worse weed or were way smarter than I to begin with. All I did was eat ice cream sandwiches and corn dogs. Only good idea I had when I was using drugs was to use frozen fruit as ice cubes. Won't water down your drink and you can eat 'em afterward. That's the best it got for me.
Re: Jack Cafferty Tells Us How He Really Feels about Sarah Palin
Hey, don't feel bad - your one good idea on drugs is one more than Palin's ever had.
Though to be fair, it only took Sarah Palin 5 different colleges over the course of 6 years for her to finally get her degree. Add in a beauty contest and some newscasting and give this lady the presidency!
Okay, quit bogarting that joint and pass it over here.

Re: Jack Cafferty Tells Us How He Really Feels about Sarah Palin
God, she creeps me out. It's like a dystopian sci-fi novel... former beauty queen with extreme views becomes America's sweetheart and gains the presidency...
I can understand that people might not agree with Obama's views. I can understand that life-long Republicans would not want to vote for a Democrat. I can even understand people thinking McCain still retains some decency and honor, even though we've seen again and again that he is just another insanely rich guy with corporate buddies looking out for his friends.
What I can't understand is how anyone (including the Republican Party leaders) thinks Sarah Palin is even remotely a sane choice for a Vice President.
Goddamn. There are some smart, telegenic, even-handed, experienced Republican women. Why not Olympia Snow? Or even Christine Todd Whitman (in spite of her fallout with the GOP for taking her EPA appointment seriously)?
But Sarah Palin is a nightmare for the US, no matter what your political persuasion. The fact that McCain is running with her undermines the entire premise of his competency.
Please think of your country and not just your party when you vote this fall.
