Occupy Wall Street: Michael Moore States, "We Oppose the Way Our Economy is Structured" >>
Senators Boxer, Stabenow, and Menendez discuss how the turmoil on Wall Street is a direct legacy of Bush-McCain economic policies that have failed this nation for eight years. Refusing to police lenders and neglecting to protect consumers enabled the subprime crisis that has brought first the American economy and now Wall Street to its knees. Bush-McCain Republicans anything goes approach to governing cost Americans jobs and hurts the American taxpayer. Despite obvious evidence to the contrary, President Bush and Senator McCain continue to insist that our economy remains strong. But these events are a stark reminder that America needs a new approach to governing so we can make the American Dream affordable again and strengthen the middle class. With the economic news only getting worse each day, Democrats believe that we must urgently pass another economic recovery package.
