Good thing he's speaking to a socially progressive (intelligent) audience. Because if he was in front of a crowd of ignorant hicks, the response would be more like -

Dingbats like to say, "oh he's just preaching to the choir"(No shit Shirlock). What these tools are obviously to soft-headed to realize is (a) Maher isn't out to convert those who disagree with him, and (b) those who disagree with him the most probably wish to do him physical harm. So, he's definitely targeting his message as he should.
