SU2C vs The Simpsons: Homer's Colonoscopy
In a rare show of solidarity, three of the big commercial networks in the US dedicated an hour of commercial free programming to broadcast the Stand Up 2 Cancer telethon.

With the usual mix of serious appeal and humor, the highlight of the night was Homer Simpson’s fantastic voyage into his own colon.

How exactly do you stand up to cancer?

FUCK YOU CANCER! I'M NOT TAKING YOUR SHIT ANYMORE! GET OFF MY COUCH AND GET A JOB!

I feel the same way about anything that strives to "raise awareness" for cancer. Is there anyone left in the world that the media reaches that doesn't know what cancer is?

It is known that physical fear has a much greater de-structuring effect at the psychopathological level than psychological fear, because there are fewer ways of escaping it. It is also known that chronic stress increases the conditioning power of this fear, sensorial as well as conceptual. Furthermore, in all cases, the immigrant lives in fear of detention and deportation.

This combination of loneliness, the failure to achieve one's objectives, the experiencing of extreme hardships and terror forms the psychological and psychosocial basis of Immigrant Syndrome with Chronic and Multiple Stress (the Ulysses Syndrome).
