Re: Matt Lauer: Jon Stewart, The Daily Show's Influence
Jon's a great guy, but you can tell he's just getting really weary. His answers to these guys' questions are always passive-aggressive. Like sarcasm with a deeper level of subtly that mocks them.
The Daily Show became something Jon Stewart didn't want. It's still silly, but he has to do it now for the sake of keeping the country intelligent. You can tell in interviews where they ask him about the show's influence that he's annoyed with the real news networks thrusting their responsibility on his funhouse. In the early 2000's, they weren't nearly so political. Now they have to be or the country's fucked. I feel bad for the guy, personally.
